Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When a change is material, we will let you know on the site or by email or text at least 14 days before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.

Account details. Your mobile number or email (used to send your one-time sign-in code), name, username, profile photo, cover image, bio, location, skills, interests and links. If you already have a TOLA account, we may fill your TOLASCHOOL profile from your existing TOLA profile (name or nickname, photo, cover, bio, username and interests); you can change it any time.

What you create and share. Projects (titles, descriptions, goals, milestones, cover images, links), videos and their thumbnails, titles and descriptions, comments, community posts, collaboration requests and invitations, Build Season participation, likes, follows, saved videos and reports you file.

Information collected automatically. Device and browser type, IP address, pages and videos viewed, how long a video was watched (to count views without double counting), timestamps and error logs.

Payments. TOLASCHOOL does not currently take payments. If that changes, payments will be handled by a payment processor and we will update this policy.

• To run your account and sign you in across TOLA products
• To publish and stream the projects, videos and posts you choose to share
• To show views, likes and follower counts, and to send notifications about comments, follows, collaboration and new episodes
• To send optional emails: a reminder when a week goes by without an update, and a weekly digest of new episodes from the builders and projects you follow (you can turn either off in My Studio › Profile)
• To give creators basic analytics about their own videos (for example, views per day)
• To keep the Services safe: preventing spam and abuse, rate limiting, and reviewing reports
• To fix problems and improve TOLASCHOOL
• To comply with the law

Your builder profile, projects, published videos, comments, community posts, follower counts and Build Season participation are public and may appear in search engines and link previews. Unlisted videos are visible to anyone with the link; draft videos are visible only to you. Your phone number and email are never shown publicly.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember settings, count video views without double counting, and keep the Services secure. We do not use them for third-party advertising. You can clear or block them in your browser, but signing in may stop working.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers who help us run TOLASCHOOL, under confidentiality obligations and only for the work they do for us: hosting (Vercel), database, sign-in and file storage (Supabase), video hosting and streaming (Cloudflare Stream), sign-in code delivery by text and email, and reminder and digest emails (Resend).
• Other TOLA products. Your account is shared across TOLA products so you can use one login.
• People you choose. Collaborators on your projects, and anyone who sees what you post publicly.
• Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, with notice to you.
• Professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, under confidentiality.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of people and the Services.

• Edit your profile any time in My Studio › Profile.
• Edit, unpublish (draft) or delete your videos and projects, and delete your comments and posts.
• Unfollow builders and projects, and remove videos from your watchlist.
• Turn reminder and weekly digest emails on or off in My Studio › Profile › Email & reminders.
• Delete your TOLASCHOOL data yourself in My Studio › Profile › Delete my TOLASCHOOL data. This permanently deletes your builder profile and what you created on TOLASCHOOL (projects and their milestones, videos and the copies hosted by our video provider, uploaded images, comments, community posts, likes, follows, saved videos and Build Season entries) and signs you out. Your TOLA account (your login, used by TOLAHOUSE) is not deleted; if you sign in to TOLASCHOOL again you start with a new, empty profile.
• To get a copy of your data, or to delete your TOLA account itself, email team@tola.house. Deleting your TOLA account deletes it across TOLA products.

We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete a video or project, we remove it and ask our video provider to delete the hosted copy; backups roll off on their own schedule. Content removed by moderators may be kept for a limited time to handle appeals and legal requests.

TOLASCHOOL is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and will delete such accounts when we learn of them.

We use encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls and row-level security so each person can only change their own data. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. Many of these are available directly on the site (Section 7). To exercise any others, contact us; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
